Description

Looking for 1st level support for the Equities Trading floor.

Will be holding hands of the traders.

1500 tickets raised a month- 82% are solved by Level 1.

This is NOT a desktop support position.

Ability to read logs, track flow, find out where trade failed.

SQL, UNIX skills.

Preferably familiar with Lava, Sunguard (reach out to marker makers), but not necessary.

This role requires the ability to function efficiently with developers as well as traders on the desks.

The ideal person should be able take an application delivered by developers and design tools/scripts themselves to make their support role more efficient, or provide input

back to development to suggest changes.

Must have experience writing queries, extracting logs, manipulating data, developing GUIs, shell scripting, etc.

Must have trading floor support experience.

This is NOT a developer's role.

This is for someone who's sat on a trading floor and can speak the trader's language.

This person will be supporting 1,000 users around the country who are Traders on a trading floor.

Self-starter, motivated, able to learn quickly and able to function efficiently with developers as well as trading desks.

Excellent communication skills.

This is a replacement, so looking to fill this position IMMEDIATELY.

New processes and procedures need to be adopted that will lead to timeliness in execution, increased Service for our clients and FA’s and increases our Regulatory reporting on time performance

The Manager will be tasked with defining synergies between the PWM, GWM, and ISG platforms and identifying efficiencies between the processes. With a focus on the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney joint venture, defining synergies and efficiencies is crucial. The Manager will interact with Trading, Sales, Legal, Compliance and IT on day to day functions, trade related issues and implementation of new initiatives. The individual will provide Oversight along with Product Support for the various instruments including: Corporates, Municipals, Agencies, Governments, FX, Preferreds, CDS, and International Bonds.

JOB INFORMATION

Represent the corporation and its services and manage its accounts with one or more large financial institutions in the capital markets. Recommend MBS trades and execute those trades in the market. Assess mortgage assets for purchase or sale and contribute to corporation's buying, hedging, and trading strategies.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

The trader will share responsibility for the day-to-day agency CMO purchase and sales process, assuring that product is purchased at levels consistent with senior management guidelines and that rigorous relative value analysis is applied. The trader will also be responsible for tracking market activity, reporting relative value opportunities to senior management, making pricing recommendations, and monthly pricing of existing CMO positions. The trader will also have responsibility for hedging certain positions as well as IO and PO trading.

Inform and guide thinking in corporate management regarding parameters of trading strategy: cash position, risk management, current market conditions, regulatory concerns, and the like, to determine optimal solution.

Confer with appropriate corporate resources to plan and put in motion execution of strategy on behalf of account: traders, management of relevant business unit, regional CAMs, Cap Market operations for pooling loans, risk management, etc.

Track execution of product development process or of trading strategy and confer with client to resolve issues and clear way for transaction to be executed.

Confer with corporate management on completion of trade, purchase, or other transaction and document as needed for accounting, regulatory, or corporate purposes.

Provide guidance or leadership to less experienced account management or trading staff, particularly on interests and expectations of clients.

Position may represent a wider range of the corporation's services, or deal in larger volume transactions, or both.

EDUCATION

* Bachelor Degree or Equivalent
* Master or Other Advanced Preferred
* Degree in Mathmatics, Physics or Engineering Preferred

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

* 6-8 years or equivalent experience

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Should have in-depth knowledge of fixed-income securities, preferably MBS including CMOs, IOs/POs, etc.
Should also have experience with fixed-income analytics including mortgage prepayment models and interest-rate models.
Experience with other complex securities will also be considered.
Trading experience is preferred but experience in modeling or a related area will also be considered.

BASIC PURPOSE

Analyze, price, and trade investments, liabilities, hedges and perform related reporting within the delegated authority and responsibility established by department management.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Within delegated responsibility, analyze, execute, and perform reporting for investments for the Bank’s term investment and liquidity portfolio in a manner consistent with the Bank’s strategic objectives, and risk management and capital market policies.
2. Within delegated responsibility, analyze, execute, and perform reporting for liabilities including consolidated obligations, repo, and fed funds in a manner consistent with the Bank’s strategic objectives, and risk management and capital market policies.
3. Assist department management in the analysis and execution of derivative hedges in a manner consistent with the Bank’s strategic objectives, and risk management and capital market policies.
4. Assist in servicing Bank members, including the pricing of various credit products, the calculation of advance prepayment fees, and supporting the advance rate setting process.
5. Assist in the management of the Bank’s liquidity position and monitoring derivative exposure.
6. Monitor, research, and report changes in the marketplace impacting the Bank’s capital market activities including improvements to valuation techniques and analytical software. Provide commentaries and updates on market conditions.
7. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1. MBA preferred or BA or BS desired with a major in business, finance, mathematics or economics.
2. 5 to 7 years of capital markets experience with extensive exposure to MBS and interest rate derivatives required.
3. Experience in using fixed income analytical software. Knowledge of Yield Book and Bloomberg preferred. Proficiency in Excel required.
4. Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
